How to Download iOS 17 Beta and iPadOS 17 Beta on Your iPhone and iPad

If you don’t want to wait until July for the iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 Public Beta releases, here’s how to get your hands on the Developer Betas right away.

Apple launched iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote session on Monday. The future editions of Apple’s iPhone operating systems will include updates to key Apple apps, including FaceTime, Messages, and Phone. In addition, the company introduced a new Standby function that will allow an iPhone to transform into a smart display when in landscape mode and charging. Meanwhile, iPadOS 17 will finally include lock screen widgets, a feature that debuted on the iPhone last year with iOS 16. A new Journal app will be available for both iPhone and iPad users, and the Health app will be available for the iPad later this year.

Apple has not stated when iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 will be launched, but both improvements are expected to come in the third quarter of 2023. Following the WWDC 2023 keynote, the first Developer Beta for both updates is now available. It is important to note that beta software is rarely regarded reliable enough for daily use and should never be installed on your primary devices. Backing up your data will also make restoring data and reverting to the stable release much easier.

Apple’s Developer Beta releases are only available to the member of the Apple Developer Programme, which costs $99 (approximately Rs. 8,200) each year. If you don’t want to wait until July for the iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 Public Betas, you may sign up to experience the first beta releases now. If you are already a member of the developer programme, proceed to step 6 in the following steps.
