Nothing Phone 2 Gets Its First Update with Several Camera Improvements Related Features
Nothing Phone 2 has yet to be sold in India, but the technology company has already released the smartphone’s first update, which includes new features, numerous enhancements, and multiple problem fixes. While most users in India will only be able to experience this upgrade after receiving their phones, some have had access to the Phone 2 from Nothing via pop-up stores around the world. Regardless, design-related elements have been introduced, even if this update appears to be largely focused on the phone’s cameras.
The update is of 105MB in size. To begin with the new features, Nothing notes in its changelog that its Glyph Composer, which allows users to create and record new ringtones, is now accessible on the Google Play Store. The Glyph Progress bar for the Uber app has also been incorporated as a design component. One of the progress bar indicators on the back panel will now display the time it takes for an approaching Uber trip to arrive.
According to the features, new widgets may now be added to the lock screen using the always-on display (AOD). Users can also add their most frequently used Quick Settings widgets or tiles to the home or lock screen. The update also includes new and improved Nothing Phone 1 ringtones and notification sounds. These have been modified to accommodate the Phone 2’s more segmented Glyph lighting scheme. A one-handed mode has also been implemented.
The Nothing OS 2.0.1 upgrade for the Nothing Phone 2 includes various camera-related improvements. The camera’s Portrait mode now offers 2x zoom for close-up images thanks to the upgrade. Motion capture is now available in the 50-megapixel high resolution camera mode, and HDR has been improved. Meanwhile, the clarity of photographs captured at 4x to 10x zoom has been increased, according to the changelog. Nothing OS 2.0.1 is also touted to improve the camera’s performance when used with third-party apps. Videos, among other benefits, are supposed to provide better stability.
